L’équipe de la faune au lac Brome

At the beginning of October, a team from the Ministère du développement durable, de l’environnement, de la faune et des parcs (MDDEFP) was at Brome Lake. This was phase III of the fish inventory project. All week, biologists from the ministry were hard at work surveying and counting fish in the littoral using a seine net.

To recap, the first phases of the project were to catch the fish in gillnets at 15 pre-determined stations. Then professional divers explored trenches and several other targeted areas to bring us photos and videos.

The results of these inventories will be published in the spring of 2014 and will especially be highlighted at our public meeting in May.

Many thanks to our partners: Town of Brome Lake, MRC Brome Missisquoi (pacte rural), MDDEFP.
