The pathway that runs parallel to Lakeside Road is a great place to walk and appreciate the lake that we strive to protect. We encourage you all to join in the big Clean Up event planned for Saturday, May 2nd from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. This initiative, of the newly formed local walking club, aims to clear debris from various sectors along this 10 km public trail.
Renaissance Lac-Brome is happy to be associated with this undertaking, a golden opportunity for you to profit from the access along the shores of the lake, a regional treasure, while contributing to the community development.
This is really a communal effort in which town employees will also play a role. They will lead off by attacking the heavier work cutting dead trees and large branches to be loading into trucks. The majority of the volunteers will then form teams to do the clean-up work, though the fitter volunteers can also help with the heavy brigade by loading the trucks.
In the morning of May 2nd we will have an information session on measures aimed at protecting the lake and in the afternoon, a hands-on period with plenty of opportunity to admire the lake. The RBL’s public meeting starts at 9:30 at Brome Lake Center, 270 Victoria (health of the lake, 2015 projects, shoreline).
