Happy Easter to all our members
We have heard virtually no news in the last few weeks that hasn’t in some way or other been related to the COVID-19 virus. We are confined to our homes and our outside comings and goings are severely restricted. During this time, April 5 to be exact, the final ice covers vanished from our lake. According to certain sources, this early an occurrence has only happened six times in the last 50 years. We have placed photos on our Facebook page to show you that despite the pandemic, nature is gradually coming to life.
We recently decided to put our AGA on hold for now, and as soon as things become feasible to hold it, we will let you know. Meanwhile, our always reliable treasurer, Diane Degré, has put together our financial statements for the last year and they will appear on our website starting April 15, 2020.
Once the confinement measures have been lifted, we will once again have a physical presence at our office in the old train station. We still hope to carry out our planned projects for the summer 2020 period and, to that end, we have hired two students from l’université de Sherbrooke to work with our biologist, Anaïs Renaud.
Once again, we would like to thank all of you for your faithful support. Please know that despite the distractions caused by the pandemic we always have Brome Lake and its health in mind.
We wish you all a Happy Easter!
