Rusty clayfish inventory!!!

We all know that Brome Lake has been invaded by industrial-size quantities of rusty crayfish. To meet this challenge, Renaissance Brome Lake and its partners are in the process of concocting a remedy to face this invasive species head-on, everywhere in the Yamaska River basin.

To start things off, we must determine the density of this species on a scientific basis. That is why, during the week of June 19, a species’ harvesting project covering some 50 sites, spread out across the surface of the lake, will be carried out.

Please don’t be surprised therefore if you observe a great number of buoys floating on the lake. We also ask users of the lake during this period to neither circulate around nor touch the buoys that are in place. Thank you for your collaboration.
