Brome Lake is abnormally low: caution advised!

The level of the lake is currently 23 cm or 9 inches below its normal measurement. Since there is no abundant rain forecast for the next few days, the level will probably decrease further, even reaching a historically low level for this period of the year.

All of this is due to the absence of sufficient rain over the last several weeks. For those of you who enjoy boating and other water sports in general, please exercise caution, especially when approaching the high bottom areas indicated on your bathymetric maps and  the buoys.

The authorities responsible for these issues at the town are aware of the situation and  are managing the dam flow according to the norms agreed upon with Quebec’s environment ministry and Ville de Bromont.
